Adventures on the ETS

Yesterday morning we left home early in order to walk over to the mall where the Edmonton Transit System depot is because we were going int othe heart of the sity to watch Edmonton's Capital Ex Parade.
We left home around 8:30, got to the bus depot but the first bus that was accordion style was FULL to the rafters so we waited a few minutes for another #100 bus that was going downtown.
So the bus arrives and it was fairly empty at first. I paid my $2.50 and Rianne rode for free. By the time we left the depot it was full and then bu the time we got downtown it was like a sardine can because the bus stopped at all the stops along the route and kept picking people up. It was crazy!! Granted yesterday was probably an extra busy day for the buses due to the parade and everyone going to the one location downtown.

We got off the bus around 108 St and Jasper Ave and I called my friend Danielle and she and another friend were in the Subway and got off at the same spot on Jasper Ave. We met up on the corner and walked down to the parade route, got situated on the corner of 107 St. and 103 Ave. Perfect location!!

The parade lasted 2 hours!!! Longest parade I've ever been to. There were3 or 4 pipe bands, A LOT of horses and many other floats and things. Extremely enjoyable for sure.
When the parade was over we walked to the Save On Foods by Jasper Ave and we bought some lunch at the deli and ate outside in their patio area before Rianne and I went home on the bus.

We stood at the bus stop for a while and the first bus going to the West Edmonton Mall was an express and didn't make stops along the route and then the next one was FULL so he stopped to let us know that there's another one 3 minutes away.
We finally make it onto a bus to the mall and we're on our way. Rianne was thrilled to on the bus and going on an adventure. Her first time on a city bus was yesterday and it was a decent experience. I thought she's freak out or something because she doesn't really like anything different and riding on a bis is very different to her.

We made it back to the mall around 2:30 or so and we went to potty right away and then she drove the remote control boat by the pirate ship for a bit before we went to the pet store where she bought yet another feather on a stick cat toy.
Once we paid for her toy we left the mall and got back to the apartment a little after 3 PM.

Great day for an adventure of that magnitude too because the weather was beautiful!
