Visitors

The last 10 days have been fairly busy. Jon's dad, step-mom and step-niece have been visiting from Ontario. We picked them up at the airport on July 5th and that afternoon we visited Fort Edmonton Park. Fabulous place that transports you back in time to the era of horse drawn buggys and outhouses. Mainly the early 1900's. We rode on an old steam locomotive and everything. Rianne went on her first REAL pony ride.
We were there for a few hours checking out all the buildings and characters. There was a 1920's amusement park with rides and games.

Monday they took Rianne to the West Edmonton Mall and gave me a break for a couple of hours. Very much appreciated by me that's for sure! I got a lot of work done around the apartment.
The mall was in our plans for the next few days actually because there's so much to do there. Galaxyland, Under Water Caverns .. etc.
Saturday morning we all left for Jasper National Park where we spent the day and the night exploring some walking trails and other scenic things. It's such a beautiful little town. I could have stayed there for a week if given the opportunity!
We came home from Jasper on Sunday and Rianne was a traveling nightmare and screamed and cried all the way and gave everyone a headache. Never had such a long drive home!!

Yesterday we went to Boston Pizza for supper and then Jon and his dad went out for a game of pool. They're flying out of Edmonton this afternoon. Not sure when we'll be seeing them again. Hopefully next Summer if they feel like taking another vacation.
